the Rage in Placid Lake (Tony McNamara, 2003)

AU, 89 min

The son of hippies attempts to reinvent himself as a buttoned-down corporate drone in the pursuit of normalcy.

i’m officially through with this indie shit.
typical “quirky” debut-directorial,
auteur coming-of-age thing.
satire a bit heavy-handed for me
i walked away with a shrug
and the word “cute” on my lips.
no more!

This silly YouTube description says something like “omg if you liked Napoleon Dynamite and Garden State‘ you’ll love this thiiing”.

Outrageous; Napoleon Dynamite is artful, and peerless; that other thing was crap.
